How does Mike Tomlin compare to other NFL head coaches? There's no doubt the standard has fallen.

After comparing Tomlin's coaching record to his peers, at one time you could argue he was the second best coach in the NFL. That's not the case as the standard has fallen.

Overrated. He has some good qualities, but he isn't the Hall of Famer people seem to indicate. His teams over the past 12 seasons have not been Super Bowl contenders and have underachieved, especially in the playoffs. The never had a losing season is great if that's your goal every year. But the Steelers goal should be Super Bowl or busts. And they missed a huge window with a franchise QB.

Someone could make that argument, but I think that tgey would fall short.

Belicheck and Reid are 1 and 2. Filip flop to current times if you will.

Tomlin is in any group below the two of them. He hasn't been better than either of them in terms of accomplishments. Yes, I know that Tomlin beat Reid to a Super Bowl win. No difference.

Every coach has harder times. Neither Noll nor Cowher were immune, and Noll didn't face free agency.

The standard is still The Standard. It hasn't been consistently adhered to. It's hard to squeeze toothpaste back to the tube. Tomlin made a mistake letting the eggs rule the roost. He needs to take back control, IMO.

I also think that his employers should suggest that, if they haven't.
