Husky's Picks for Super Regional Finals (National Quarterfinals) 15--5 up to this poibt.

SR I Shepherd wins this time. IUP will not shut down Bagent as well as they did last time. Whoever wins this game, will go out the next weekend in the national semifinals no matter who they play. Such is almost always the fate of the PSAC.

SRII West Florida is now on a mission. The Argonauts play at a higher level than Wingate.

SRIII Game of the Week at Lubbers Stadium in Allendale. Grand Valley edges Ferris State as before in the regular season.

SRIV Angelo State wins this one over Colorado Mines. ASU will not give up 45 points as Minnesota State did.

Div II Quarterfinal Football Results

SR I Shepherd 48 IUP 13 Bagent obviously had a big day. Wow! At IUP!

SR II West Florida 45 Wingate 14 The Argonauts play at a higher level in the GSC.

SR III Ferris State 24 Grand Valley The Bulldogs run is not yet over. Husky missed this one.

SR IV Colorado Mines 42 Angelo State 24 Angelo State DID give up over 40 points, as Husky said they wouldn't.
Husky missed this one also.

Husky's playoff record now stands at 17--7. Stay tuned to see what the semifinal match-ups will be. Husky could not watch any of the games on the computer due to being at a grandson's birthday party. Hence he is making little or no comments. He is surprised that Grand Valley lost, but not greatly. Ferris state seems now to be the favorite to win the national championship. Will now look for recaps. Husky is as curious as the rest of you.

Who Plays Whom in Semis? Husky posted a false bit of information from a bum source. Actually, it is Shepherd who will be playing Colorado Mines, and West Florida will be playing Ferris State. Colorado Mines and Ferris State are the home teams. Times and places are to be determined. Hopefully both games will be televised on a network accessible to all. Husky picks the Ferris State Bulldogs (GLIAC) to continue there drive to the national championship by beating the Argonauts of West Florida (GSC), and the Shepherd Rams (PSAC) with QB Bagent leading the way would like to see the Rams pull off an upset win over the Ore Diggers of Colorado Mines (RMAC), but such will not be the case. Colorado Mines with their almost equally talented ace QB Machota wins this game. To the best of Husky's knowledge, only two PSAC teams have ever advanced to the Div II national final--they being Bloomsburg and IUP. Shepherd has been to the national final, but not as a PSAC member. Shepherd will most likely NOT be the PSAC's third. The two games will be telecast on ESPN+. Kickoff for the West Florida--Ferris State game is 12 noon EST, and the Shepherd--Colorado Mines game begins at 3:30 EST. Don't know anything about ESPN+. I had hoped for ESPN2 or ESPNU

Not much more to say, as Ferris State once again plays for the national championship against Colorado School of Mines. Once again a PSAC team is ushered out in the semi-finals by a lopsided score. The main reason is that many teams in other super regions simply have better and greater access to acquiring talent in greater abundance than the PSAC. In any case, congratulations to Shepherd on their great season and the same goes for all the other members of the PSAC. They gave it their best shot--things being what they are.

Ferris State Wins Another Div II Championship

There isn't really much to say, except to say Ferris State dominated Colorado Mines in the national final. it has become old hat for the Bulldogs. Thus another Division II football season comes to an end. Husky thanks all for the many views. it has been my pleasure. Husky wishes everybody a joyous and happy holiday season; and if things work out, he hopes to meet up with all of you again in August of 2023. Stay well.
