Every team in the NL- West is on a winning streak, though short. Every team in the NL- East lost their most recent game.

Jacob deGrom, who is injured yet again, is, IMHO, the best pitcher of the past decade. You know, when he's actually on the mound. The guy has 82 career wins. 82. I know wins don't matter as they used to, but holy cow, that's anemic.

I'm not being argumentative by this question. Not my intent. Curious.

You have one guy to choose, and only one. Do you take The Healthy DeGrom over Kershaw? I'm leaning a little more toward Kershaw.

But, if someone gives me a healthy DeGrom, I'm going to think on it a while.

My knee jerk reaction to your question is that if, I had a one-year window to win it all, I would take Greinke. Well, at least pre-return to KC Greinke.

Availability matters. And it seems that Clayton has had more than his share of niggling injuries the past couple of years. But, if I was starting on building a team for the long haul, I'd take Kershaw.

Angels have put up 23 runs on the Rockies on 21 hits.

It’s only the 4th inning.

Record for most runs in a game 36 by the 1897 Chicago Colts, now the Cubs.

Record for most hits in a game by one team is 33.

Some long standing MLB records are in jeopardy of being broken tonight in Colorado.

NOTE: 33 Hits was in an 18 inning game

Most hits in 9 innings is 31 - accomplished twice

Angels now have 23 hits through 5 innings

Every starting Angel has a hit and an RBI in the game.

This is like a month long scoring for the Pirates.

And it is only in the 5th inning now.

Angels up to 25 hits M6.

Tie franchise record for most runs in a game with 24 runs.

Still 3 innings left to break their all time runs in a game.

Angels 25 Rockies 1 FINAL

No MLB records broken, unless 21 combined runs scored in back to back innings is a record.

Angels break franchise records for most runs and most hits in a game. 25 Runs with 28 hits.

The 21 Runs the Angels scored between the 3rd and 4th inning tied an MLB record for most runs scored in consecutive innings.

The last team to score 21 combined runs in consecutive innings: The 1894 Pittsburgh Pirates, on June 6th 1894.

Mickey Moniak is a guy I am keeping my eye on for the Angels. He was the number one pick 7 years ago and never has produced at the major league level. 7 years seems way too long. On the other hand, he is only 25. Could he finally be coming into his own. In 89 at bats, he has 7 homers and a .337 batting average so far.

Phillies may have given up on him too early.

And now Florida has hung 22 on LSU in game 2 of the College WS.

Something in the water...

Add some spice to this game. The Rockies traded Mike Moustakas to the Angels shortly after the game.

It is difficult for teams to be patients with prospects that don't live up to their projections. It is even more difficult for fans to be patient.
