Who needs Trevor Bauer when you have Mitch Keller and J.T. Brubaker?

BOB doesn't care about the noise. He just didn't want to pay the $4 mil.

Which, he would've gotten back on Day 1; from the hooting & hollering contingent.

If it ain't on BOB, then it's sure on Ben. Bauer is better than anyone we have. The Burgh looked the other way on another Ben in town for how many years?

Bauer could have been had at the league minimum.
All of MLB passed on him.

Who cares what the football team did 20 years ago.

OK. Let's use your reasoning.

Who cares what other clubs didn't do? We should have.

Chances are, teams just followed Manfred and went along with the program. Makes life easier.

I would have to think Bauer not being signed by any team was a hush-hush agreement by all of the owners....and probably a hush-hush suggestion by Manfred.

There must have been more there to get an almost 3 year ban originally compared to 1/4 of a season.

There have been stories of him being a clubhouse cancer too.
Bauer has a reputation as a troublesome teammate. Some members of his organization have griped that the clubhouse consists of “24 plus Trevor,” and, says one player, “I think Trevor cares about Trevor a lot.” Of course he does, Bauer says. “In what world is me being a Cy Young winner bad for the team?” he asks. “The better I am, the better the team is, so you should want me to be selfish about how good I am.”

Bauer > anyone we have.

I dont care what he does off the mound now that he has served his time. Nice guys lose 100 games two years in a row. That's what the guys we have do.

Talent? Sure. But then Bauer is better than every other team's 4th or 5th starter, so again, why didn't even one team offer him something? Anything?

Because chemistry matter too. And maybe he's too big a sh*t to be worth the risk. Even if he has Cy Young arm. And even if he was good for team harmony, I personally wouldn't want him on my team. Maybe if we were close to contending, and it was a matter of improving at the margins, maybe. But we're not even close to being marginal. So let's at least have higher caliber guys.

I'm not looking to marry the guy. I want a guy who wins baseball games. Ours don't. He does.

I dont care why competitors don't do something. I told you their reason above. My goal would be to beat them. He would.

I think Bauer could have been a significant improvement to a pitching staff that is staring at a high 90 loss season, with more promises about the future. I am 74, I am beginning to think I will never see a winning season again.

We haven't lost enough for some people's tastes. NWWL.

A great trade for our Bucs would be to trade Mitch Keller to the Japanese team for Trevor Bauer.
