Like the games and stats don't matter in Spring.bucco boy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 12:45 pm Saw this on TV this morning. The umpires in yesterday's game left after the top of the 9th because the game was officially over. The teams wanted more reps. So they played the bottom of the ninth and called their own balls and strikes and made their own calls. Very interesting.

We lost today, but our guys were experimenting with new things, while the other team was out for blood.

Split Squad Day
Re: Spring Training 2023
We are in last place in Spring Training with the worst record in all of baseball. If we play like this in the regular season, we will end up 32-130.
Re: Spring Training 2023
I was at the game today against the Yankees where we got our first hit in the 9th inning. The hi-light was Swaggerty throwing out a runner at home plate on a fly from deep center. Maybe the best throw I have ever seen in person.

A depth piece at AAA who can play all the infield who could be a bench piece.
27 years old, maybe if given a chance he could be a Garrett Jones like contributor.
Re: Spring Training 2023
I wonder if we will win more than 1 game this Spring Training?

Garcia is said to have forearm tightness.
They're being vague about it, but I'm thinking it might require Tommy John.
Re: Spring Training 2023
We lost again today and we are honing in on that 32-130 record.

Heck becks, I'm not sure that even RS stats matter when it comes to the Piates anymore. I had homeys telling me how it didn't matter when we lost 21- zip last year.
How'd that turn out?
