Hopefully this minor league signing of Owings is just in case an injury happens to Cruz, Marcano or Bae in spring training. The fact that we no longer have Kevin Newman, Diego Castillo or Hoy Park, we kind of put ourselves in this position. If we need another middle infielder after the all-star break, maybe one of our top prospects Nick Gonzales or Liover Peguero will be ready for a call-up.
