We're a patty cake hitting team. Home run hitters cost money. That's why we don't have any"

Well, McCutchen is on the downside of his career, but he is much better than wasting at bats on some suspect and hoping it works out. Hope is not a Strategy.

Cutch might be on the downward side of his career, but he at least has a career. Most of the guys we run out there don't and won't. Those who do, will probably find theirs somewhere else. :(

McCutchen's one of the guys we can say the exact opposite about. Kind of ironic.

I love this move. Clutch's best years we're with the Pirates and our best years we're with him. At the time he left I said I'd rather suck with Cutch than suck without him, and we've sucked aplenty since he left.

It all comes down to what kind of clubhouse leader he's going to be, and I don't think any of us know how he's going to work out, but I'm willing to give him a him a one-year flyer. Cutch has been part of a rebuild before. He at least knows what it looks like.

Does anyone know when he will have a press conference or speak to the media?

Without him, that "re-build" didn't get built. It would've been just more of what went on before him. They added enough around him to at least improve.

I wonder whether they'll make the same commitment and more to this new batch.

Doesn't look like it if they're dumping Reynolds.
