I'm not sure that Ben's ever showed up in the first place. He can't disappear if he hasn't appeared. ;)

Guys who hit home runs.
I know I am going to get laughed at for this one, but I would like to see the Pirates go out and make a 6 year $240 million offer to Aaron Judge. The Pirates would still be in the bottom 6 to 8 teams in team payroll if we did that. That is how low our payroll is at this point.
Let's see.....I could win that $1.whatever billion lottery......or, I could be Aaron Judge. What a country!

And, to think: Even if I won that lottery, I'd still be a billion or two shy of being able to buy the Pirates. :(((
==========================

I won't laugh. Judge probably won't bite at that offer to join a bottom-tier club, but I still like the thought process. One benefit of landing a power hitter (or, any good player) is that it prevents them from going to a competitor (and, hitting a bunch of home runs against you.)

I don't think 240 would be enough for him to go with a six-year deal. He probably wants 10 years- and, a no-trade clause. If I was a player who was any good, I wouldn't sign with the Pirates (Nationals, Oakland, or some other teams, too) unless there's a two-year opt out. I want to see how the team looks in two years.

I'd really like to know what he, his family, and his agent are thinking. There can't be many more than five clubs that are interested in him enough to open up the bank vault for him. He's shining on Broadway. Is he looking to go to Tinseltown? To San Francisco? To Chicago? I wonder what he's looking for if the Yankees aren't enough. These guys are wealthy enough to live anywhere they want. I'd like to know who he wants to play for....and why he'd leave the Yankees. I've heard some folks think that he'd go to the Mets and get some of that money.

He seems like such a good guy, I think he is staying with the Yankees.......even though they were booing him in the post-season. Aaron Judge at age 30, I think will probably get 8 years $320. Even though there is less than a 1% chance he would take a good offer from the Pirates, wouldn't it be refreshing to see that they were at least trying.

Refreshing....and, probably a little worrisome at the same time.

"Companies" are just a group of people who work together. I've found that when someone makes a sudden, big change in their habits, that could be a red flag; a pink flag at the very least.

Leopards will change their spots, but it doesn't happen overnight. It takes a long time before anyone notices that they've changed/faded.

Cream beats almost cream.

Now, the fun begins- for teams that choose to participate. Clock's ticking.

Players can't change teams until Thursday 5pm. Do you really want him to lock up Roberto Perez and Ben Gamel? I'm sure Thursday is when they will sign Judge, deGrom, Rodon and Rizzo.
