5 innings, 3 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned run, 2 walks, 5 K's.

A rotation of Keller, Contreras, Ortiz, Oviedo, and Brubaker in 2023 doesn't look too bad.
That’s right and Wilson, Thompson, De Jong, Peters can battle for the long relief role.

I would like them to go after Quintana again, but probably not going to happen because he will be in the 5-7 million range if not more next season.

Bucs are in a real battle in the Bronx tonight, a pair of errors have really cost them tonight.

Realistically they should be winning this thing.

4-4 in the 7th

Sloppy play by the Yankees in the eighth.

Bucs take a 5-4 lead on an infield single by Reynolds.

Clay Holmes in for the Yanks to try to put out the fire.

Now Rizzo doubles off of Crowe to put the tying run in the on deck circle.

Add a walk and a single and Crowe has now loaded the bases.

Winning run at the plate.

Shut him down for the year, he has been ineffective for two months now.

Crowe has been a massive failure in the closer role. I am not sure how many meltdowns he has had in that role, but it's too many. He is still a serviceable bullpen arm but built for mid-innings or even set-up in the right situation. Bednar wouldn't have blown that save and probably a couple other current bullpen members would have gotten through it.

Everyone recognizes Crowe is not built for the closer role, except the one pulling the strings. It started with a blown save in the Giants series. I can’t remember the last clean 1,2,3 inning from this guy. He started the season great, not allowing a run for the longest time.

Crowe gave up more runs last night, without recording an out, than the rest of the staff gave up in 8 innings of work.
