The rumor is the Yankees are looking to move Miguel Andujar.

He asked for a trade in June. He's added 1st base to his lost of positions played. He's 27. Has some pop.

That would possibly solidify 1st base.

Would you make a deal for him?

Who would you offer?

I like that question. First of all, I would be trying to sign Quintana to a 3 year 30 million, maybe 40 million. The Pirates salary will be so low the next few years, we can afford him even if he does flop.
However to answer the Andujar question.....the only players I think the Yankees would realistically ask for are Reynolds, Bednar or Qunitana. I would say No for Reynolds or Bednar, but YES for Quintana.

I'm thinking Gamel (though I think he'd be a great 4th OFer type of guy to keep), Quintana, and Newman.

I don't see Bednar going, unless it is a big haul. The PR nightmare is too big.

I'm hoping only Quintana and Gamel get traded. Stratton if anyone would have him.

I hope they keep Newman and everyone else. They can DFA Yoshi and VanMeter after the deadline, and then roll with what is left.

Assuming Ben listens to me regarding who goes, these are the guys that should be called up:

Contreras, Marcano, Suwinsky, Swaggerty, and the new reliever we just traded for.

But I fear that Ben's trades will cut deeper.

MLB network said Quintana to the Cardinals, but they haven't finalized the players in the trade.

The rumor I am getting from the Cardinal fans right now are for
P 6'5 245 pound 24 year old Johan Oviedo (They have sent him up and down. They have been using him as a reliever, but can start) Major League Ready
20 year old (Cardinals #10 hitting prospect) Malcom Nunez has 17 homers in double A. Even though he is a 3rd baseman now, some project him at first.

This trade is not confirmed.

The 3 Cardinal fans I have been texting with thought the Cardinals gave up too much potential for what they consider a rental. Personally, I am pleasantly surprised with the return.

Nunez is listed at 5'11" 205 pounds. Right bat.
21 years old and spent all of 22 at AA. He has spent a majority of the season at 1st base.
