Re: 2022 MLB Draft
MLB did a countdown 6 or so months ago on top prospects for the draft and this guy was ranked #2. They did an interview with him and I think everyone will love his attitude, confidence and willingness to try to keep getting better. Baseball America gave him a power rating of 60 and a batting rating of 70 (which I would guess is the best in the draft). I am psyched about this pick.

With pick #36 the Pirates take pitcher Thomas Harrington from Campbell University.

Thanks to the Rangers for taking Rocker. I like it, too.statscbl wrote: ↑Mon Jul 18, 2022 1:50 am MLB did a countdown 6 or so months ago on top prospects for the draft and this guy was ranked #2. Pick #44 Pirates take P Hunter Barco from the University of Florida.
Re: 2022 MLB Draft
I saw where Brock Porter was projected to be a first round pick anywhere between 9 and 15, but no one has picked him. They said teams can't afford him. Is there any chance the Pirates can still afford him?

Brannigan is the best defensive 3rd baseman in the draft. He touches 100 mph as a pitcher.
Re: 2022 MLB Draft
I wonder if they will give him a shot at both and see where it takes them. It seems Bubba Chandler is doing that now.Dan_Stonerook wrote: ↑Mon Jul 18, 2022 10:33 pm Brannigan is the best defensive 3rd baseman in the draft. He touches 100 mph as a pitcher.

Re: 2022 MLB Draft
From some of the sites I read, the experts are saying he's a bat. I'm wondering if the Pirates see him as a pitcher or a two way player? A college guy who is good defensively at 3rd base will have to make a position change if he wants to make the Major League roster in Pittsburgh.bucco boy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 19, 2022 12:00 amI wonder if they will give him a shot at both and see where it takes them.
