I am all for giving a longshot a chance. However when you put 5 guys on the mound like this, the chances are high one of them is going to get rocked.
-Our starter Jose Quintana was put on waivers last year by the Angels.
-Our second pitcher Will Crowe came over in the Josh Bell trade (along with Eddy Yean).
-Our third pitcher Chris Stratton was purchased for change from the Angels in 2019.
-Our fourth pitcher Anthony Banda was picked off off waivers by the Pirates from the Mets last year.
-Our fifth pitcher Heath Hembree was put on waivers by the Reds last year.

Suwinski is the real deal.Its about time we benefit from a trade of that type.

Did Suwinski just hit his third homer of the day?? Giving the Pirates a walkoff win on Father’s Day. After one of the best closers in baseball blew the save in the top of the ninth, giving Bednar the win instead of the save?!?!?!???

From what I could find Suwinski is the 21st Pirate to hit 3 homers in a game. The last was Josh Bell on July 1st 2019 in an 18-5 rout of the Scrubs. Bell and Suwinski are the only lefties to hit three in a game since Stargell went deep 3 times in a game in 1971.

Bae and Madris are having good seasons at Indy, since everyone is getting an opportunity this year to show what they have, I wouldn’t mind seeing these two brought up at some point this season.

Bligh Madris never had anything eye popping in the minors until this month. He was 23 for 58 in June for a .397 average. I am looking forward to seeing him as well.
