That is now an RBI in 6 straight games to start a career.
Joe Block said Monday night that Pirates SS's had 8 RBI combined all season.Cruz now has 6 in 4 games.

Cruz has been an RBI machine and this is only his 4th game. What I think Block meant to say was the leader in RBI's for a Pirate playing shortstop is 8. Still an amazing stat.
While playing shortstop this year Newman(8), Castillo(8), CRUZ(7), Park(2), Tucker(1), Hayes(1), everyone else(0).

CHAVIS!!!

Chavis drives in Hayes in extras to win this thing.

RAISE IT!!

Chavis the hero of the day with a game tying homerun, after the Bucs bullpen imploded.

Chavis also threw out the go ahead run for the Cubs in the top of the 10th.

The game should have never got to the point of Chavis’s heroics. The Bucs bullpen implosion in the 8th was ridiculous. Shelton usually has no problem using Bednar for 4, 5, 6 out saves, kind of a head scratcher that he went with De Los Santos.

Bucs win Bucs win!!

Let’s go

Quick pitch on MLB network said the other night that only one player has had an RBI in their first 5 games to start their career in the wild card era. I believe it was David Peralta that did it. They were including the two games that Cruz played in last year when he went 3-9 in two games. Cruz now has 6 straight games to start a career with an RBI.

I will have to look up Cruz’s stats from last year, just to make sure quick pitch wasn’t yanking my chain.

1-2-3 1st inning for Keller. Something big for a guy with a 7 plus ERA for his career in the 1st inning.

I know in today's baseball , teams want to load their roster with as many as pitchers as possible. The downside of that is the lack of pinch-hitters available. Pirates had one runner on with one out in a tie game in the 9th. We send up two pinch-hitters where one is hitting .161 and the other is hitting .158.

And now the Rays send up their own .162 avg pinch hitter.

Suwinski, Reynolds, and Chavis crap the bed and fail to drive in the runners at third and first with no outs.

This Rays bullpen is tough
