Game Day Comments - May

One game back and I am already sick of Tucker again. We need to jettison this guy for a bucket of balls.

Tucker is going to cost this team the game today, 2 unearned runs are on him.

This guy never put up good numbers in the minors, why the Pirates organization believes he is a major league player, is beyond my understanding.

Rockin Ronny Cedeno was better than Tucker.

He can’t hit, can’t field, no power, I guess he brings a good attitude and is a good cheerleader on the bench.

He seems like a great guy, but he should be nowhere near a Major League Baseball field.

.159 BA and .159 OB percentage, the guy can’t even draw a walk.

Bases loaded nobody out and the Pirates can only scratch out 1 run.

Tucker is still on the hook for two unearned runs and costing this team a potential win.

Premature GOAT of the game is Tucker, spoiled another good outing by Helen …. errr Mitch

Stratton giving Tucker a run for his money for GOAT of the game.

Tucker with another K, BA drops to .156 with an OBP of the same.

GOATs of the game
Tucker
Stratton

I am going to assume if Tucker gets another start, that the Pirates have no interest in trying to win the game.

No less than 4 guys in the Pirates minor league system that would at least contribute to the team, above what Tucker brings to the table. Cruz, Gonzales, Peguero, and Castro are much better ball players than Tucker.

Every game seems like a spring training (tryout) game....what a weak lineup....after 21 games no starting pitcher has recorded a win...sheesh.

Got to go at least five to qualify. And you can probably count on one hand how many times that’s happened so far this season.

If we are going to bring up a guy based on what they've done the last few weeks, it would be top prospect shortstop Liover Peguero in Altoona (double A). He is known for his glove first, bat second. In 18 games though he is hitting .338 with 3 homers and 5 stolen bases. The problem is he only has 74 at bats higher than "A" ball. I am sure they don't want to rush him and I don't either.

Our middle infielders that should be knocking on the door are off to a slow start. Nick Gonzalez is hitting .203 in Altoona and Oneil Cruz is really struggling with a lot of strike outs and a .176 average. Personally, I would like to see those two get it together in the minors before we call them up.

We have a few other guys that can play shortstop in the minors or majors(Park, Bae, Castro), but none of them are doing much with the bat.

Can Diego Castillo play short?

What roster moves were made today since they had to trim rosters?

Tucker with another error, costing the Pirates the lead. Tigers get three unearned in the bottom of the fifth.

This team can’t afford to keep trotting Tucker out there game after game. He is not a Major League Baseball player, as much as the Pirates organization wants to think he is.

Another error by the Pirates in the 7th, thankfully it did not lead to another run.

Pirates 2 runs on 5 hits and 3 errors
Tigers 3 runs on 3 hits and no errors

Heading to the 8th

2 More errors by the Bucos in the second game against the Tigers today, bringing the total to 5 errors on the day.

Pirates errors today 5, Pirates runs today 4. Hopefully the runs will catch the errors today and the Bucs can pull one out today.

Thompson in to pitch the 6th in a 2-2 game, so no chance a Pirates starter getting into the win column.

Both Pirates starters were good today, not their fault they can’t get a win.

Great steal by Marisnick there and forcing an error to boot. I like the way this guy plays.
