His peripheral numbers weren't bad.
He looked a lot better out of the bullpen.

Were you expecting to compete in 22?

No, but another pitcher who sucks sure doesn't help matters. 8-)

I would rather have Eloy Jimenez, Dylan Cease and the 2 prospects that the Cubs traded to acquire Jose Quintana. (Just a dig on the Cubs.)

Actually, I am fine with the Quintana signing. I don't think we have many good pitchers that are currently being blocked from getting major league innings. I do think we have prospect hitters that need major league at bats this year.

I thought the same. But hey, maybe he becomes that white flag innings eater or the coveted loogy!

2021 Pros: 85Ks in 63IP

2021 Cons: 32 years old, started 10 games, 6.43ERA (69ERA+), 1.73 WHIP, gave up the most hits, HRs, and BBs of his career. Only 63IP. Injuries past two years.

Hope for 2012 Wandy Rodriguez numbers, expect 2014 Rodriguez numbers.

Could he rebound? Sure. But I'm cheap and would find a better way to spend $2 million......
