That's one area of focus. Another is to consider the best at their dominant position. Expectations of infielders are sometimes different from outfielders, especially defensively.

In my opinion, if I was a pitcher, I would have feared Parker over the other two.

Of the two, I support The Crime Dog more. I don't want to disrespect anyone. I see Rolen as one of the best third basemen of his time, but maybe not of all-time.

Since Mazeroski got in, I haven't really paid as much reverence to the HOF elections. It's much too political for my liking. It seems to me that it comes down to who's doing the lobbying on behalf of players. A guy wasn't considered electable for x number of years, then on the 8th year, his credentials somehow "improved" enough for recognition. That's never made sense to me. I think that we should know immediately upon retirement whether a player is deserving. If they weren't on that day, why would they be 15 or 20 years from that day?

The Red Sox get Richard Bleier for a 2 and the Marlins get Matt Barnes for a 2. What say you pittstop and statsbci?

I rate Barnes higher than Bleier. I would move Barnes up to a 2.5, but am ok with dropping Bleier to a 1.5 instead.
