Re: What To Do When The Vets Are Healthy?

I'm not looking to dump anybody right now. Except Eikhoff. They need the depth. Yoshi, Newman, and VanMeter are rehabbing now. When they come back, I would send Mitchell, Castillo, and Park down. Gamel is not rehabbing yet so that's a decision that can come a little later. They'll be trading what th...

Re: Too Many Lefties

I wouldn't release any of those guys right now. But I would try to avoid having Yoshi or Vogelbach facing any lefties.

Too Many Lefties

It's kind of ridiculous to me that the Pirates have almost nothing but lefty hitters. As far as pure righties, we have Hayes and Chavis, and that's it. And in AAA, literally all of the guys that can hit are lefties. Kind of irresponsible of Cherington to build a team that way. Facing a quality left-...

Re: Game Day Comments - May

I thought the game 1 ump was good. The game 2 ump was terrible and has no business having that job.

Re: Okay, Keller - what do you have to offer?

Mitch Keller is not a good pitcher. And this has been true for a long time. And yet there is no logical course of action but to keep running him out there and hoping for the best.

Meadows has produced way more than Archer since that trade.

Re: Pirates acquire John VanMeter from D-Back

Seems odd since they have more than enough infielders. I think they see potential in his bat because his AAA OPS is 950.

Kind of a quad A type player. Maybe he is going to take a step forward.

I would keep him at short. I think it is dumb to put him anywhere else at this point in time.

Re: Shifts, Clocks, Bigger Bases

I'm in favor of a salary floor, pitch clock, bigger bases, and the DH in the National League.

I'm also in favor of moving the mound back a foot.

I'm very much opposed to banning the shift. It goes completely against the spirit of the game.

Brighter days are ahead for the Pirates, and hopefully, once the labor agreement is settled, for this board as well. Merry Christmas!

Re: Stallings Traded To Marlins

They signed Perez for 5 million and Yoshi for four. So it's not just about dumping salary.

Re: Stallings Traded To Marlins

Kind of shocking, to see Stallings traded and Moran, Kuhl, and Brault cut. I didn't like any of these moves at first, but knowing that they signed Perez, and giving the other moves time to sink in, I'm ok with all of it.
