Re: Castro Called Up Mitchell to AAA

Nothing would surprise me out of Castro. If he didn't play well, that wouldn't surprise me. If he hit 5 homers in a week, that wouldn't surprse me either. I saw him play a few weeks ago in Indy. He hit, ran and fielded well. He also laid down a nice bunt.

Re: Endy Rodriguez Promoted to AA

Thanks for that update. Any word on when Roansy Contreras will get called up? After his 2 week rest, he has started 3 games in Indy.
7/26 2 innings 1 run 2 strike outs
7/31 3 innings 1 run 5 strike outs
8/5 4 innings 1 run 9 strike outs

Re: Cleveland DFA's Franmil Reyes

Of all the teams to lose him to, it has to be the Cubs. Crap.

Re: Cleveland DFA's Franmil Reyes

I almost posted the same thing about Reyes. At age 23, this 6'5 275 pound guy hit 37 homers. Last year at age 25, he hit 30 homers. I will gladly take a .250 hitter with that kind of power. I wish he played a little first base.

Re: Game Day Comments - August

Brewers score a run in the 9th without a hit. Ghost runner on 2nd. Runner moved over. Two intentional walks. Then HBP to score the run. So Milwaukee did nothing to score that run except stand there. Rob Manfred should walk the plank. This is shit baseball. When the Brewers were up by 1 in the 10th,...

Re: Game Day Comments - August

I am fine with Marcano trying to get to second with 2 out in the 9th.
1) Take the gamble to get in scoring position
2) I like him starting the 10th on second (with the rule of last batter in the 9th starts on second)

Re: Yoshi designated for assignment

Same, I thought Yoshi would be good and Quintana bad. Marcano looks like the real deal. A couple weeks ago, I watched a couple games in Indianapolis. Even though I think the potential superstars are mostly at lower levels, there seemed to be a group of guys that play with a lot of energy at triple ...

Re: Trade Talk

Any reports on how Bligh Madris looked at first base? I am all for giving one of our young outfielders a crack at first base, even at the major league level. Maybe Cal Mitchell or Jack Suwinski?

Re: Vin Scully Passed Away

Listening to the stories he would tell about each player or player's family during a game that he announced by himself was priceless. He could call a game without saying a bad word about a player, manager or umpire. He was total class and a complete gentleman. There will never be another announcer l...

Re: Yoshi designated for assignment

I liked the signing at the time, but he was a total bust. Get the younger players those at-bats I was actually excited at the time of the signing. I thought he was a great sleeper pick. I also thought that Jose Quintana was going to be one of the worst starters in baseball. I am with you that I am ...

Re: Juan Soto and Josh Bell To San Diego

The trade is not official unless or until Eric Hosmer waives his no trade clause. He has some leverage right now.

Re: Trade Talk

When does the bidding for Tsutsugo and VanMeter start?? That made me laugh. I was not happy about VanMeter joining the Pirates to begin with. More unhappy that he is in the line-up as much as he is. I will say that I glad we signed Tsutsugo at the time, but I guess I was wrong on that one. Is it to...

Re: Trade Talk

This is nothing more than a straight salary dump. BOB's cash register goes CHA_CHING. Quintana was making around $10 million a year over the last 4 years. He was so bad the last couple years that I think the Pirates were the only team to give him spot in the rotation. In return, Quintana settled fo...

Re: Was in Chicago....

I am interested about the size of Buddy Guy's place. Is it hard to get to? Do you sit at tables or is it theatre like? We stayed at the Palmer House. Monroe and Wabash. It was 5-6 blocks south. Easy walk....all tables and hi tops in the back...probably seats 150-200...food 2 bars, one on each end.....

Re: Trade Talk

The 3 Cardinal fans I have been texting with thought the Cardinals gave up too much potential for what they consider a rental. Personally, I am pleasantly surprised with the return.
