If there is such a thing as "Big" trade piece, I like your way of thinking.

Re: Rocker Watch

A few months ago, I thought Kumar was a slam dunk. I don't see anything special that jumps out to me to make Lawler of number one status. Can anyone help me out here?

Re: Testing New Rules In The Pioneer League

I haven't quite bought into the extra inning rule. Yesterday in the bottom of the 10th of the Phillies game, the Cardinals first batter ground s out to second, then throw a pitch that gets behind the catcher on the next batter. Game over, because you put a runner on second. About as exciting as flip...

Re: Madison's 7-inning No Hitter

I think they need a separate category for non-9 inning no hitters. A 9 inning no hitter is way more difficult in today's game. I am guessing 90% of the pitchers that have a no hitters through 7 innings do not complete a 9 inning no hitter. Most of the time they get taken out or give up a hit. Howeve...

Re: How long can the Pirates sustain their competitive start?

I have no idea what is going on with Keller. He had 5 starts last year. He didn't give up a hit in either of his last 2 starts last year. 11 ip 0 hits 10 walks. He was looking like a future ace, if he could cut down the walks. He hasn't cut down on the walks, but has given up a ton of walks. On the ...

Re: New Rules Being Tried By MLB in The Independent League

Here is my guess Goal #1 Have the ball put in play more.........I am not against moving the mound back a foot, especially because of how much taller men are in general since 1893. However, this change alone would be bad unless they actually deadened the ball like it once was. Goal #2 Have starters g...

I think it is all part of the plan to get another number one draft pick.

Re: Joe Musgrove Throws A No Hitter

Good for Joe. Why couldn't you do that in Pittsburgh, Joe? He is using the fastball less and less. We all know that the former Pittsburgh pitching staff wanted a lot of fastballs, 2-seam fastballs, and balls in play for quick outs. Or so the theory goes. Musgrove was on the DL during most of August...

Re: Joe Musgrove Throws A No Hitter

Good for Joe. Why couldn't you do that in Pittsburgh, Joe? When Cole and Glasnow left, it wasn't a surprise those guys were going to excel. I think Taillon will as well. I loved Joe in Pittsburgh, but I didn't see this coming. I am happy for him. Archer today for the Rays. He didn't so well in his ...

Re: The Shift

I understand why teams shift, but it is bad for viewing for TV. Someone hits a liner up the middle and you have no idea if it is a hit or not. You also don't see very many athletic plays by your infielders.

We have 14 pitchers, then we find out our best pitcher is position player Philip Evans?

Re: Todd Frazier

I understand that in today's game, teams want to load up on a bunch of pitchers that can throw hard for an inning or two. However, from an entertainment point of view, I miss the days when you had a big bench. I don't get too excited about the 11th thru 14 pitchers on the roster.
