Re: Game #60 6/6/23 A's @ Pirates

Just an overall piss poor performance tonight from everybody, from Shelton on down. Hernandez did have the 1 good inning of work. I guess we have to tip our hats to the A’s. Sure. It's why there are 162 games. Or putting it another way, there's 54 games you're gonna win, 54 games you're gonna lose,...

Re: Game #59 6/5/23 A's @ Pirates

Well even though we left the bases loaded and only scored one run, Sears couldn't last 5 innings for Oakland.

Re: Game #59 6/5/23 A's @ Pirates

I think Oakland starting pitchers only have won 2 games so far this season, while the other 10 were in relief. Getting no hit after 4 innings is not the way we wanted to start.

Re: Henry Davis To AAA

Endy and Henry both in triple A now. If there are 6 games played in a week, I would expect Henry to catch 3 games, play the outfield once and DH once or twice (with a possible day off). I would expect Endy to do the same thing, but his position would be first base instead of the outfield. Just a gue...

I was hoping Yerry would stay up in the majors and they let Chase try to work things out in the minors.

Re: Game #52 5/28/23 Pirates @ Mariners

Defensively the Pirates are a big plus having Hayes and Hedges compared to other teams, but our offense is struggling bigtime because of it. Also when those 2 guys are in the line-up, I think other hitters in the line-up might be pressing or even getting pitched around. I wonder what Ke'Bryan Hayes ...

I wish Block would keep his big mouth shut. 🤬 Whoever said he can't judge how deep a fly ball is correct. It became comical last night. At least 4 of the Pirates homers he began calling them like it was a routine fly ball until he noticed the outfielder up against the wall. That would be me and he ...

Re: Blake Sabol

On the positive side, I am happy with Jose Hernandez who the Pirates picked up in the rule 5. I was actually worried that the Pirates were going to lose Gorski or Malcom Nunez, which I was wrong because no one claimed them. Did the Pirates protect the maximum amount of players? Looking back, I think...

Re: Game #49 5/24/23 Rangers @ Pirates

First off, I am happy with how well our pitching staff has done so far and thrilled we are over .500. As far as our position players: It seems like we guys that can hit OK, but we have nowhere to play them in the field where they will help us. Then our solid fielders, aren't hitting up to snuff. May...

Re: Game #47 5/22/23 Rangers @ Pirates

Hedges is a funny guy to figure out his value. I would have to say maybe all 6 of our starting pitchers this year have done just as well or better than expected so far, and on fewer pitches. I get the thumbs down on Hedges with his usual hitless game, but I think he called a heck of a game that Orti...

Re: Game #46 5/21/23 D Backs @ Pirates

He was far from alone. Was anybody effective? I listened to most of it. Glad I didn't have to see it. I thought Roansy looked better than his stat line showed. I would have prefered he pitched the 6th, especially with only 83 pitchers, just like I wish Keller would have pitched the 6th when he had ...

Re: Eric Hosmer DFA'd

Teams that spend money like the Padres can afford to make bad signings. They will just spend more on somebody else. Teams like the Pirates that operate on more of a fixed income cannot afford bad signings. Can they, though? Traded their farm system- Thanks for Marcano, Suwinski, Bednar, and Endy Ro...
