Re: Keller Optioned To AAA

I'm not sure I would have sent him down unless there mechanical things they need to work on. If it strictly execution, he should be in the big leagues, even if he pitches poorly, so we can find out if he has a future in the big leagues or not. This is the time to do that when your season is pretty h...

Re: Even Hayes isn't immune from being a Pittsburgh Pirate

Allegedly, the first base coach Brock did yell at him but he couldn't hear him over the crowd noise, fireworks and PA system.

Re: Even Hayes isn't immune from being a Pittsburgh Pirate

I understand why Hayes missed the bag. He was looking at the ball, running full speed not knowing if the ball was out or not. My question is did he not realize he missed first base which to me would be strange. Maybe he thought nobody noticed because he could have easily returned to the base and tou...

Max Kranick

Special interest in Max, a local kid from NEPA. Was promoted to Indianapolis and made his debut last night. 5 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 6 K, 0 BB I had a great conversation with him this winter as he was working out where I work. Smart kid. Listened intently to some stories I told him about the Pirates history....

Doubleheader shutouts

Very impressive Saturday against a bad Rockies team. Nonetheless, Brubaker and Keller were very good and that's good on both fronts. Brubaker can be trade fodder while Keller continues to develop.

Re: What an embarrassment

Notice Baez on the video is celebrating with a safe call at home. He actually didn't realize until a second later that he had to get to first or the run wouldn't have counted. Frazier was the other screw up here. If he is at first base, there is no run and two-run inning in a 5-3 loss. No reason for...

Re: What an embarrassment

We all know Craig made a bonehead move, but my biggest problem is the lack of help from his teammates. This wasn't a bang-bang play. It was a quiet stadium. Someone should have yelled for him to run back and touch first. Leadership and communication is a must. This play demonstrates why. Great poin...
