I hate them getting blown out but the run differential is BS anyway. A 16-0 loss is the same a 1-0 or 3-2 loss. It counts as one loss. They split with the best team in baseball. That's what really matters.

I think Appel was projected to be a top 3 pick where he would expect to get around $8 million for signing. Teams past on him because they were uncertain he would sign. The Pirates took a chance and drafted him with an overall 8 pick. According to the CBA, the Pirates didn't have that much to spend ...
