I know that...but what I meant was did he look as good and the stats SEEM in innings 2-4..then did he start getting wild, or what??

Well, he set down 11 hitters in a row, 4 by strikeouts, if that's what you're asking. With only one ball leaving the infield (caught by McCutchen with his back to the wall).

Could this be the beginning of the end? Something doesn't feel right. Maybe because our starting pitchers (except AJ) and bullpen are starting to suck. :x

I didn't think these starting pitchers (again except AJ) were going to last for the long haul and they are starting to prove me right.

How ironic. It's the offense that has come on to save the day when they were terrible at the beginning of the year and it's the pitching that is falling flat on it's face (except for AJ) when the pitching was exceptional at the beginning of the year.

If this is the beginning of the end, I still feel very good about this team and how far they have come. To be this far above .500 and in the playoff race at this point is really remarkable.

Whatever happens from now until the end of the season I would like to say now that I thank the Pirates for making baseball, Pirate baseball, fun again.

All right. Cutch leading off the 8th. He needs to show some leadership here. Right now.

I'm not trying to be the "I told you so" guy, but when the Lincoln/Snider deal happened.....I was worried. Long relief is important in a pennant chase and the last few games, it's looking like we needed Lincoln more than we realized.

7-1 vs an awful team at home. Hard to believe this is really happening. Disgusting stuff.

Just to keep things in perspective: Worst case scenario, even if we don't come back and win this game, we're still 2 1/2 games up in the Wild-Card race.

Breathe, folks.

Lincoln is one pitcher. All of your pitchers but Hammer are blowing leads and games so I don't really see the connection.

F This Ump. Another idiot. Pedro gets four balls and it's a 2-2 count. It's embarrassing to baseball.

The goat horns should not be difficult to award tonight for Animal.

You still can't be the I Told you so guy because Lincoln isn't the issue here.

I'm also not sure what Toronto is using Lincoln for, he's only made 3 appearances and pitched 5 innings since being acquired.

pathetic...it seems that every team will blow a big lead at least once a year, this was the pirates game, but what was very upsetting is that we again blew it with the bullpen

Lincoln might not have saved them in some of these games, but he'd be a nice insurance policy to have against some of these guys faltering.

Chance on Snider for the next few years was worth Lincoln being good for this year.

i think we will have the best outfield in baseball for the next 5 plus years, not like a one year fluke with bay mclouth and nady....
we have 2 superstars with a pretty good snider rounding out the 3...

Honestly, I think you guys are pathetic. Half the people on this board panic every time the Pirates lose two in a row. Makes me crazy. It's a frickin 162 game season. Yeah, it was a bad loss. Every team has them. Shake it off and win the series.
