Wandy has not impressed me at all since we traded for him and Hughes has come back down to normal after he has been great for all us all year.

Harrison is struggling. Another chance to get on base in front of McCutchen and swung at a couple pitches out of the zone with a 3-1 count. I'm about over this one.

Exactly why Harrison is a backup. I like him...but too much time overexposes players like this.

Barmes to pinch hit?!?!? Why not just let Locke hit...he's got a better chance of getting a hit.

The constant Alvarez benching is a mistake, IMO. And it cost us here. Did Pedro screw Hurdle's niece or something?

Agree about Rodriguez. He is not making it easy to be a fan of that trade. I don't so much object to losing Grossman, Owens, and Cain in the deal, but the Pirates' ROI so far has not been worth it.

Then double switch! I would rather see Karstens or McDonald pinch hit before I see Barmes grab a bat. I know that his defense is solid...but his bat really holds this team back. Hurdle has a lot of loyalty towards him, which is fine to a degree, but he has to face facts that Barmes is no longer a Major League hitter. This WILL affect our playoff chances down the road if not addressed now.
