AWESOME WIN! Great pitching. Fantastic defense. Just enough hitting early, then better hitting late. Way to start a long homestand! Dang near perfect game!

STARTER: Bedard was phenomenal. Just two baserunners. What was it, 17 or 18 straight at one point? Great start!

WIN: Bedard goes 7 innings, just 2 hits, no walks, 5Ks....He gets the win to raise his record to 6-12 4.53 ERA. If he could continue to pitch well, the Bucs win the division!

HOLD: Grilli earns his 26th hold.

Honorable Mention: In addition to the hold, Grilli earns an Honorable Mention for his part in this win, coming into a 1-0 game in the 8th and keeping it that way. Marte earns an HM by going 1-3 and showing off that arm, gunning down a runner at second trying for a double by a mile! Walker was shocked by how much time he had! It's been a long, long time since I have seen someone that out going for a double! WOW! Harrison doesn't get any hits, but does make a couple top-notch plays at 3b to earn an HM. Barmes goes 1-3, plus a nice sac bunt that should have led to some runs, plus some real good D. Barajas is on base a couple times, getting a single and an RBI. Snider comes off the bench to single and drive in a run. And although the game was already pretty much in hand with a four run lead, I am still giving Qualls an HM because I don't think many of us have a lot of faith in him. Good job!

Star #3: Cutch enjoys getting back home! He went 2-4 and scored a couple of runs. His hustle got him to 3rd after a single and forcing a couple of errors, where he was brought in for the games first run by Sanchez.

Star #2: Which brings us to the #2 star, Sanchez. He brought in the games only run through the first 7 1/2 innings by making contact with Cutch on 3rd. So often, we strike out in that situation. In all, he went 2-4, scored a run, drove in a run, and played pretty good defense.

Star #1: Bedard gets the #1 star for pitching what was a 1-0 game until the 8th inning. You cannot get much better than that. He was most responsible for tonight's win. He even got the Bucs first hit of the game!
