Nice long at-bat. Over 10 pitches.

You knew Barmes was going to get out there. He could have at least done the honorable thing and struck out instead of hitting into the double play.

Not watching the game, but tuned in via ESPN GameCast. A couple of things stand out:

1. An inside the park homerun over a CF of McCutchen's caliber is one way teams without a regular batting over .275 in the lineup win 17 of 20.

2. We strike out, a lot. 5 Ks through 4 1/3 innings.

3. As the box score initially flashed, we had only one hit. Of course, it was McCutchen. That I knew for certain it would be him says a) he truly is having an MVP season, and b) he still needs much more help.

Marte was the fielder on the inside the park HR not Cutch.

I will be shocked if we pull this out. You don't win many games where you yield an inside the park home run and then another to the pitcher.

Inside the park HR and a 2 run homer by the pitcher. Standard game.

All of this mess with two outs. Of course, here comes Ludwick.

Apparently that was Latos' third career home run, as well as the third home run hit by a Cincinnati pitcher this season. Generally, I love it when pitchers hit HRs, but this one stinks...
