This is what I started typing in the top of the 9th....We can't win 'em all! I liked the comeback. The Buc bullpen has been so reliable all season, but they cannot do it every night..especially when the starter only gives them 5 innings. GOAT: Went back and forth between Hughes and Walker. If either had done thier job, the outcome may have been different. Hughes came in in the bottom of the 7th, after the Bucs tied it up after being down the whole game. He gave up a triple, then a single to give up the lead, then another single and walk to load the bases before getting out of it. I think Walker contributed to the loss more. In the 4th, he grounded out with Cutch on 3rd and 2 outs. In the 6th, he grounded out with runners on 2nd and 3rd and only one out... and in the 8th, he grounded out with Cutch at 3rd and two outs. In all 0-4, with a K and 4 stranded runners (all in scoring position). Goat has to be Walker. BUT THAT ALL CHANGED IN THE 9TH INNING!!! WHAT A WIN!!! THIS TEAM IS MAGICAL!

STARTER: Karstens just did not have it tonight. He only lasted 5 innings, giving up 4 earned runs. The offense got him off the hook, but calling this a bad start.

WIN: Watson pitches a real nice 8th inning to earn the win, raising his record to 5-1.

SAVE: Hanrahan gets em...eventually to earn his 31st save.

Honorable Mention: Cutch goes 2-4 with 2 doubles to set the table, but nobody brought him in. Sutton draws a walk as a PH in the 9th and comes in to score the winning run! McGehee, in the midst of a terrible slump, comes through with a great AB in the 9th, drawing a walk on a 3-2 pitch, to load the bases. Resop comes in a pitches a quiet 6th inning, after Karstens left with us down by 3. Watson keeps the Bucs in the game with a solid 8th, striking out 2.

STAR #3: Marte does it again. In about as big a pressure situation and you can have, he comes through with a SF to tie the game in the top of the 9th.

STAR #2: Presley goes 2-4 with a Solo HR, getting the Bucs on board with their first hit in the 4th.

STAR #1: Mike McKenry The fort sure has found the HR stroke this year. He went 3-5, with a double and a 2 run HR, plus a single in the bottom of the 9th, to put the typing run on base. He also raised his average to .267, 9 HR and 22 RBIs. Not too shabby of numbers for a backup C with just 120 at bats.

The Marte SF, on that pitch, was a thing of beauty.
