I hope the Bucco fans give Doumit a warm welcome tonight. He was a good Pirate for quite a few years.

BIG series. Anything less than taking two of three would be a massive disappointment.

The pitching match up doesn't look good for us. Let's hope our hitters remain hot. We're home-- so let's make the most of sleeping in our own beds.

sometimes sleeping in different beds makes you play at the top of your game....case in point, tiger woods

He gave up 4 earned in his last start... And none in the two before that. Stats suggest a serious ground ball pitcher. Lefties seem to smack him around pretty good though so hopefully the Pirates lefties get it going.

Stats also suggest Diamond is in for some serious regression, let's start that tonight!

I didn't realize sleeping had anything to do with it? I prefer "relaxation techniques".

Just saw an interesting note on gameday. It said something to the effect of "Diamond holds batters to a .245 (can't remember the exact figure) avg in the first 45 pitches and opponents hit .349 after the first 45.

Of course that probably means he'll rack up 10 Ks now but thought it was interesting.

Greg Brown just compared Pedro Alvarez to Ralph Kiner. Puhleeeeez, Greg. Let Pedro win one home run title first.

Pudge wouldn't have thrown Harrison out. They were swiped off Diamond. McCutchen's steal was on a double steal.
