The Barmes deal is the worst so far, but this signing is almost as bad except the Pirates can just cut him loose which they should consider if he doesn't pick it up over the next couple weeks. Nate is probably done.

Way to leave Meek in way too long, Clint.

Hurdle royally screwed up. Why would you leave Meek in the game? Three runs on one hit in the inning. Whether Meek was squeezed or not, an awful decision by Hurdle when you have Cruz ready to come in. That as the game on the line and they blew it.

Why was Meek sent down in the first place? Because he sucked. So you bring him back up and show some confidence in bringing him in a one run game. Fine. But when he walks two and hits a batter, it's time to win the game. I have not been this pissed off at Hurdle since he took over the job. BUT COME ON.

Meek is done. Time to face that fact. Should've kept him down. He hasn't been right since injury...

Yep, you have what 8 in the pen now? Unbelievable. Worst case scenario for Meek.

When Barmes came up in the 9th, I was praying he struck out. I figured if he made any contact, it would be a DP. So thank you for answering my prayers. Oh, by the way. Rodriguez threw him five pitches, all out of the strike zone.

that is now what it is coming too, I do the same thing regarding strikeouts and how I wish for them instead of our players actually hitting them because I know they cannot drive the ball to the outfield if a runner is on third, I know they will just hit a groundball and roll 2

I agree. In fact we should release every player hitting under .220. Alvarez, McGehee, McKenry, Barajas, McClouth, Navarro, and Barmes should all be gone yesterday. Surely the guys in AAA can hit better than that. Come on now!

And of course we should release Meek and Correia too.

If guys can't produce in the first 6 weeks of the season, why would you think they are ever going to produce?
