Cutch has been amazing.

Barmes has not! I am really starting to miss Ronnie Cedeno. Hell, I am starting to miss Jack Wilson.

Good thing Barmes is only on a 1-year deal! Oh, wait.....

When you look at the location of that pitch and then where it landed over the fence, I wonder whether any other Pirate could have hit it that far. Jones . . . maybe? If I hadn't known it was a HR I wouldn't have been surprised if it had been caught on the warning track.

Just barely made it over. Went into the small gap between the fence and the seats.

Per MLB Network, Pedro is batting .438 in his last 9 games with 5 HR. That's not just hot, that's scalding.

Just checked and Pedro is the first number 2 overall draft pick to hit .438 in 9 games for an East coast baseball team.

Tabata could have scored there...took off for third, wild pitch gets by and he turned and pulled up. I think he would have made it relatively easily.

EDIT: Turns out to be the smart call as Presley brings him in.

With the top 6 in the lineup hitting reasonably well we almost look competent at the plate. Now if we could just do something about the automatic outs in the 7 and 8 spots; giving "Killer B's" a bad name.

The Pirates could trade for Carlos Zambrano, and have him bat 7th. He is a much more accomplished hitter than Barmes and Barajas.

Chukky's a rapper now? Weird.

I know Chukky's family, particularly his sisters Obi and Didi. I went to summer camp with them.

I guess I must have forgotten that about him. In fairness, he was a good deal older than I was. I just remember him being a large man and typically the "anchor" on any tug-of-war match.

Maybe, just maybe . . . Barmes is taking some of his offensive woes to field with him. Maybe, just maybe . . . he has shaken out of the hitting funk and his fielding will come around. (Can't blame a guy for hoping, right?)

Soon its gonna be hard to keep Alvarez out of the #4 slot - which is a good thing for the lineup as a whole. Walker is a "misfit" in that slot. He's better suited for #5 or #6.

Hopefully this week marks the awakening of the bats for this year.

Nice.

He looks like a completely different hitter. Laying off the breaking balls in the dirt, taking hacks at hittable pitches, really smacking pitches up in the zone.

Wow. Now, aren't you guys glad I kept telling to you lay off Pedro and not to reach too many conclusions based on a small sample size? :D :?
