I have always loved that 1987 Topps set, easily my favorite from that decade.

Is this the "I give up" lineup?

More likely that the Pirates want Pedro to get more experience against lefties. Which is fine with me, as I grew tired of seeing Barmes out there anyway.

He has been swinging it pretty good lately. Just ride the horse and tell him to lay off the benders away.... 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Well, if so, it would appear to have been successful. :) :)

Pedro is now on a pace to hit 37 home runs.

Vote for Pedro

This is some horrible home plate umpiring tonight...both ways. I don't think any of these guys know what the "moving" strike zone is from one at bat to the next...

RAISE IT!

We go into Atlanta to play a Braves team that is 12-7 and 5-1 at home and split the series.

THAT is a great series for this team.

One of the best things about this game (from my Southern vantage point anyway). The game was televised on SportSouth (rare chance for me to watch the Bucs). The homer Braves guys were pounding the theme prior to the game "Wrapping Up a Good April". And what do the Braves do? They wrap up April...by giving up NINE runs... to the PIRATES!!!

I didn't realize we were facing a lefty. I was cursing Hurdle when Pedro hit into the double play, but he looked pretty smart after Pedro and Navarro both homered.

Umpiring was bad, and opposite of what you normally see - strikes were being called balls.

Nasty hook from JMac last night. He had their knees buckling. Maybe he is going to take the step forward that I thought he could.
