better than the other on-going record (20 and counting).

Credit to the pitchers. I like what I see from the staff (though you may recall the staff was pretty sharp the first half of last year too, before the free fall). This year, with the veteran presence of Bedard (please stay off the DL) and AJ, maybe we can keep solid pitching going longer.

Nice work today by Ground Chuck and JMac (tough luck).

Wow ... surprising that the Pirates were just 2 games under .500 after 18 games last year, when they were outscored by 22 runs.

That is actually very difficult to do. (And, as we saw the second half, darn difficult to maintain.)

The RS is worrisome, but... *whistles* gotta love that RA -33 differential!

It's equally encouraging that the RS/RA differential has lessened, too.

we havent played the Brew Crew yet. You may recall a particularly wretched series against them early in the year.

The losses to Milwaukee were only 4-1 and 6-0, we also had lopsided losses to Florida 6-0 twice, Cincy 11-2, and Colorado 7-1.

The 36-1 Milwaukee series was in April 2010.

This year we haven't played any of our 30+ games against CHC and HOU yet.

The other encouraging thing is that sure we have 5 one-run wins, but we also have 5 one-run losses. Almost all teams are near .500 in 1 run games, its not like we have had lopsided luck in our favor.

The run-differential this year is encouraging. Makes us look less flukey than last year.

We still need to score more runs, though.
