Wish I could be there today; I've only been able to go twice this year so far (and they were the two losses). Having an out-of-town girlfriend is really getting in the way of being a Pirates completist. Will be at all three Rockies games, though (assuming they don't get snowed out).

I'll be at the Blue Jays/Royals game today with Pirates game playing on my phone. I'm bringing an extra battery just in case my phone dies.

I'm at a friend's house with the (abysmal) Penguins game on. They are hockey fanatics, so switching to the Pirate game is not feasible. Blah.

Well, here's a bit of good news on an otherwise dreary day: Rudy Owens pitched a gem for Indianapolis. He went 7 full, giving up 2 singles and 0 runs. Five K's, no walks. In the 6th, he got out of a two-on, no out jam by inducing a forceout and then K'ing the last two batters. He didn't come out for the 8th inning. I'd have to look it up to be sure, but this was probably his best start in more than a year -- and it came on the road FWIW.

UPDATE: But then the immortal Tim Wood gives up a two-out, pinch-hit, 3-run walk-off HR in the bottom of the 9th to blow the game for Indy. On the first pitch, too.

Man...Bedard has had NO support.

2.36 ERA and is 0-4. We gotta start swinging the bats soon.

I'm a total hockey freak, but I was watching the Pirate game full time by the end of period 2.

It's not the offense's fault. I'm sure Kyle Lohse is a Cy Young candidate too!
