Lots of contributors for a great 1-0 win.

WP: Burnett
Save: Hanrahan
Holds: Cruz, Watson, Grilli

Star #3 Cutch has two hits. scored both runs, and smoked the ball every time up.

Star #2 On a night like tonight, Alvarez deserves a #1 star for driving in both runs, some great defense, and hustle..but unfortunately he was not our brightest star tonight. I declare Alvarez okay!

Star #1 Burnett. WOW! What a game. After getting shelled in the minors and that rough start, who can honestly say they did not think tonight was going to be a long night? Seven scoreless. ...just three hits, 2 walks(none after the first), and 7 K's. Let me say it again. WOW!

HM: Walker had a hit and a walk and some great D. (I think they will change his one at bat from error to hit upon further review). Watson and Grilli each struck out the only batter they faced! 11 strikeouts for pirate pitchers!

Presley 11.0

Grilli dispensing of Holliday with a K with 2 men on in 8th was huge.

Also, Walker had some not-so-great defense too. A grounder to his left where he didn't get his glove down and a foul pop up about 5 feet from the stands where he dropped the ball.

The foul ball was a very tough play. I think he thought he was closer to the stands.

My thoughts too, he gave away two outs on balls where he had the glove in position.
