Well there's some luck going Walker's way. RBI pop up single.

Weird line-up. I don't know why they wouldn't just plug Walker in second and let McGehee clean-up.

Also not sure that I like Tabata sitting two games in a row, but I can understand wanting to get both Jones and McGehee in the line-up.

My guess is that they want to get Barmes some fastballs to hit so he can bust out of his slump.

That's the most rediculous thing Ive heard since I made up the Karstens injury-conspiracy!

LOL.

Its less disturbing than Luis Rivas hitting leadoff. JR pulled that one 7 times in 2008 and Rivas went 6 for 35.

Remember Tike Redman batting third?

Heck, I remember Jeff King leading off.

Raise the Jolly Roger!

To be honest, 5-7 doesn't look too bad. If the Bucs play well and win some games at home, they'll be .500 before you know it.

When your team is 5-7 and hitting 190, it points the credit right at the pitching staff. I don't remember a stretch of pitching like this in quite some time. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Hats off to the pitchers.

Every pitch matters to these guys, and they know it. They are not the Rangers or the Yankees staff, which knows that they can give up 3 in the first inning and still very possibly win the game.

Pretty demanding to throw every pitch while knowing that one mistake could be the game.

Who cares how small the sample is? Who among us predicted our record this good after seeing the Phillies and then road games with the G-men, Dodgers, and Snakes.

Most of us thought that 3 or at most 4 wins would be the best we should expect. So, getting 5 at this point is really pretty good for our Pirates as a start to the season. The pitching has been great. The hitting is going to be better as time goes on and if the pitching stays, we could have a real team this year.

I was being facetious. Hence the eyeroll smiley.

If the Dodgers hold on tonight, we are in second place.
