I'm following on Gameday - anyone watching have any insight on Bedard? He has thrown 34 strikes and 38 balls at this point, with the balls being literally all over the place. It's amazing that he's only issued 3 BBs so far while getting outs on so many 3-2/3-1 pitches.

The walks have finally bit him. Two outs, issues two walks and then a single for the D-Back lead.

Rod Barajas is the slowest person I've ever seen.

Okay, there goes Sally. Going to bed. This team is awfully hard to watch. No timely hitting when it's needed. Left the bases loaded again. Starting pitcher can't find the strike zone.

I know what you mean. It's not because they're losing. It's because of the way they lose. They're not the least bit exciting to watch. I'd rather watch a team lose with some exciting hitters, than lose like this every night. They're amazingly boring. They don't work counts, they don't hit for power, they don't hit with men on base. It's freaking boring as hell to watch.

We knew coming into the season that Barmes and Barajas were extremely low OBP guys, with a bit of power that would be reduced by PNC Park's configuration.

So the two new position players are guys who don't walk, don't hit for high average, don't get on base and whose one skill - power - will be greatly limited by park factors.

The Pirates are dead last in the MLB in OPS, and by a very wide margin, too. OBP as well. We don't walk. We don't hit for average. We don't hit for power. We don't score. This is pitiful to watch.

Other than that, how did you like the play, Mrs. Lincoln? :D

But we do lead the NL in infield hits.
