So far, one strike into his second at bat, Alvarez has swung-and-missed at 4 changeups. He simply cannot see that pitch. And now Pedro has K'd again. That's 9 Ks in 15 at bats thus far, and 0 for 9 with 6 Ks in his last 9 at bats.

At this point, #24 is an automatic out.

At this point, he's had 15 at-bats. Calm the f*** down.

OK. Please tell me when you've seen enough. I can wait.

And it's not just the results, my friend, it's the WAY he's failing. He cannot see the change. He cannot adjust. While I still harbor dreams that Pedro will fully realize his talent, right now he's hurting and not helping the team. I don't see why he can't learn to hit off-speed pitches at AAA. I don't see why he can't adjust his approach at AAA. Why does he have to do this at the major league level?

The members of this team are striking out way to often. Another really good start by McDonald so far.

I hate being so negative but July is going to be ugly when the pitching craps out as it always does and we still can't generate any offense.

He hasn't even played a week's worth of games, and you are ready to throw him under the bus. Call me crazy, but that strikes me as a bit of an overreaction.

Whether the weather is a factor or not, McCutcheon has played a brutal CF so far this season.

Absolutely not. He was horrible all last season as well as Spring Training. It's panic time with Alvarez.

I agree.

We're seeing a head case

True, Wilton, and normally I wouldn't be worried at this point, as I'm not worried about Walker starting off 1 for 20. But before the regular season he was terrible all spring. Before this spring he was terrible last season. This slump is approaching 13 months, and I'm starting to worry.

I still say, for better or worse, this is the season you play Alvarez and he either makes it or he doesn't. After this season he is either still part of your future or you cut your losses and move on, as painful as that will be.

This team better start to hit a little. This is embarrassing at this point. I don't care who the other pitchers are. As someone said above, when our pitching slows down, not to mention faces better offensive teams they could be in even more trouble. When your starters are only giving up 3 or less runs you've got to win at least some of those games. And I just don't see any immediate help for this roster. Ugly!

How tilted is Cain that his ridiculously great game was denied a perfect game by our pitcher of all dudes (although it is the Bucs' offense so there isn't much of a drop-off)?

If you are managing against the Pirates right now, why would you ever give Cutch a pitch he can hit? He is all we have that is a threat.

Basically a perfect game. The pitchers have been fine but they have hit a all-time low for this recent era. And there is really nothing we can do.

I'm just tired of seeing this organization miss on high end draft choices. That's what it is. At least if some of these guys would pan out you'd have something to build around but currently that's not happening. It can't be just one guy, not when you're a small market club. That can't happen. It takes this franchise way to long to develop players and for the most part they don't develop at all. Even when it looks good at first (Alvarez) it still ends up being bad. Can't catch a break.

Am I wrong to think this?

I'm 22 years old and haven't seen a PBC win anything. How long does it take to rebuild a franchise?
