Star #3: McHenry...hit his first HR of the year and got the Bucs on the board when they had done nothing to that point. I think by the end of the season, McHenry will be the #1 catcher.

Star #2: McGehee..had a couple of hits...did all he could to help the Bucs

Star #1: Cutch! He is getting it going...three hits, a double, and a run.

Honorable Mention: Resop came in and gave the Bucs two scoreless innings to keep them in the game.

Loss: Karstens. Did not pitch bad after the first inning....but that big first inning, and the need to send up a PH with the bases loaded prevented him from going more than 5 innings.

Goat: I know. I know. Most of the offense deserves the blame. Only two runs yet again. Not going to win much like that..but in keeping with the Stars and Goats, I have to name someone...although it was just one at bat, Hague flied out in PH appearance with bases loaded and Bucs down by a run. A hit would have put the Bucs in the lead. Three stranded runners gets Hague the goat tonight.

SEASON TOTALS

Presley 5.5
ACutch 5.0
Cruz 4.5
Correia 3.0
GJones 3.0
Barmes 2.5
McGeehee 2.5
Karstens 2.0
Hanrahan 2.0
Respop 1.5
Hague 1.0
Bedard 1.0
McDonald 1.0
Harrison 0.5
Watson0.5
Grilli 0.5
Alvarez 0.5
Meek 0.5
McHenry 0.5
Barajas 0
Grilli -1.0
Walker -1.0

Respectfully couldn't disagree more RE Hague's goat status. It wasn't a fly at all. He blistered that ball. It simply went right to Kemp. 30 ft left or right and that ball plates 3 runs.

I think goat status goes to the five guys who looked at strike 3 in the first two innings, which pretty much set the offensive tone.

IMO, goat is Alvarez. I was a big 'give him one more year' guy last year. I am officially done with him. Im ready to move on from Pedro and look for his replacement. He will never change unfortunatley. Looked at strike 3 twice last night. My biggest pet peeve of all time.

I have to agree with Alvarez. He was lost last night (again).

Not only looking at strike 3, but his first at bat he didn't swing...ONCE!!! Then McKenry came up and did the same thing. Bad enough looking at call third strike, but to step to the plate and strike out without swinging AT ALL???? Geesh!

You can't blame Hague. He hit the ball hard. I said at the time that was the game right there.

Hague flat out tatooed the ball; it was a rocket. The camera shot in the dugout when Hague hit the ball was one of massive excitement until they realized that the missile was headed directly at Kemp.

There are many others far more deserving of "goat" status. Hell . . . Neil Walker's marginally struck grounder back to the pitcher to start a double play with Tabata on first base and no one out (and the Pirates seeming to have gaining momentum) is just one example.
