Perhaps the better exercise is to find an alternative to Diaz as the platoon partner for Jones. Someone who makes his living as a lefty-masher should be hitting better than Diaz.

That little Harrison puts quite a charge into the ball. He took that other way nicely.

escobar is 2-2 and both hits have come with him down in the count 0-2......the first hit was from a pitch right down the middle but that last hit was at least a little bit more a reach for him, pitch that guy up and in on 0-2 PLEASE

Bob Walk is talking it up because Karstens gives up solo home runs instead of walks.

Unfortunately, he just gave up two solo home runs and the score is tied.

And the worst part it is the Pirates crummy offense won't score enough runs to win the game.

Pirate pitchers have to pitch shutout games in order to win. Maholm knows all about that.

And just like that Diaz gets an RBI single off of Octavio (Don't ask) Dotel!

Don't understand why Karstens didn't come out for the 8th. He had a relatively low (88) pitch count.

Pirates bullpen ... all fastballs, all the time. Resop, Watson and Veras threw nothing but fastballs to some good Blue Jays hitters, who could not muster a run against the fastballs.

Man I am glad we are away from 3 rivers stadium, holy cow it is terrible to play on turf but it is even more painful to watch. Both teams looked like little league players at times, high bounces off the turf, miscommunication on routine fly balls.....yicky turf is to thank for that..
