Goddamn the hitting.

Damn this effing, weak-ass hitting.

You're right, but he did make it a 12-pitch at-bat. At least it wasn't three swings and misses.

Yes, true, but the at-bat became a series of defensive swings after he hacked at the first pitch, a fastball at eye level.

If he takes the effing pitch, like he should, he is sitting 1-0 and in a much, MUCH better hitting situation.

Nope, not Ronny. SWING AWAY, RONNY, SWING AWAY!!

I have a lip reader sitting next to me and he said Ray Searge just asked Paulie Walnutz if he was a pus%^?

94 pitches in 5 innings. Yikes!

Congratulations to Chase on this first major league hit. Too bad he couldn't have gotten it an at-bat earlier. ;)

Good for D'Arnaud. Getting your first hit against Lester. First of many, I hope.

And he crushed the pitch.

My 8 year old just asked me why the Pirates can't get runners past 3b. I lied and told him it's because we don't want to show-up the Red Sox.

Good work by Watson coming back to get Gonzalez and by McCutchen to K Youkilis. Not to mention by Veras to get Ortiz. Was holding my breath, there.

Red Sox broadcasters, while noting the good Pirate pitching, feel the need to mention the handicap of having to play without the DH.

Buck Foston.

No offense, Bob. I'm tired of the whining about no DH. It's not like Big Sloppy isn't allowed to play just because he's not DH'ing.

I think I can play a better 1st base than Ortiz

Wow, you mean the pitcher has to EFFING HIT and fat-ass, sloppy, low-talent, one-skill bums like Ortiz don't get to play?

Yeah, baseball like it was meant to be played.

I would like to see the AL candy-ass DH attempted when Bob Gibson was pitching. He would have punched the DH in the face and taken his own #@#$%!%&* at-bats.

Same for Don Drysdale.

Little things.
Hurdle coming out in top of 3 to "talk with Maholm." He had no real interest in talking to Maholm. Is was all about getting in the ump's ear. Hurdle was clearly pissed and let the ump know it. Loved it.
