I like Garret Jones a lot...I'm afraid he's underperformed himself out of a job. He seems to be the type of player that needs regular playing time to keep his game up. With Alex Presley on the way and X Paul playing well...I think his playing time will continue to dwindle. Something will have to give.

Even as poorly as G.I. Jones has been playing, he still has some power. The Pirates sorely lack that. The team will have to exercise some patience with Jones (though taking away some of his at-bats is fine) simply because he has the ability to hit the ball over the fence.

Alex Presley has more 2B, 3B and HR.

And what would Garrett Jones have in AAA? I'm sorry but I'm not buying Presley's "power" transferring to the MLB. Not that he isn't hitting himself into Pittsburgh, but I hardly see him as being a legit power hitter when he gets here.

Stranger things have happened. Who would have thought Neil Walker would be your cleanup hitter in 2011? 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

If Presley's power translates to the majors, bring him up.

He averaged 19 HR per year in his four and a half (+) years in AAA.
