To be fair, Veras did throw strike three to Beltran. He and Brown both started to jog off the field before they realized that it was inexplicably called a ball.

Unreal. The way the pitching has been 7 runs could be enough to win 2 games. Not today :(

On the plus side, at least Bay hasn't joined in the havoc. THAT would have added insult to injury.

Paul triples to start the 9th. How big was that run Veras walked in last inning?

I'm in shock.

Overbay needs to sit a few games.

He's colder than Hillary Clinton's underwear.

Well, that was a waste of a perfectly good afternoon. A game that did not need to be lost . . . was.

Sigh.

Lyle Overbay ... you can start hitting now.

You know, before September.

Horrible loss. Stomach turning.

This kind of horrendous, stupid, incompetent, moronic loss usually leads to a horrible run. It always has in the past.

And oh yeah, just in time for the (&&^% Phillies and, even better, ^$%#%@# interleague play.

Score is 7-3, Maholm struggling, runners 2nd and 3rd, two outs. Maholm has not been sharp all day.

Facing a guy who has exactly 0 hits in 2011. Walks him on 3-2 count.

The Clint Hurdle of Apri/May pulls Maholm, Pirates likely win.

Left him in there to give up 3 runs, and the game.
