Interesting that Jones isn't playing right and Paul left if Hurdle wants to give Tabata a day off. Why start Diaz? Must be because he's been tearing it up lately. 8-)

Wasn't there a story on the team's official site that Jones was in danger of losing his starting job? Hurdle's patience with him may be running thin.

It's a shame. I thought the RF platoon was going to be a nice bright spot.

Well Doumit's injury aside, at least we have two catchers hitting .290.

Mets' broadcasters certainly moan a lot, don't they?

I assume Hurdle started Diaz in favor of Jones because Diaz has been swinging a good bat and Jones has not. He said from the beginning that Diaz would play against some righties.

And I assume he put Paul in right and Diaz in left because of the bigger right field in that ballpark.

It will! By the end of the year, I see some good numbers from the Diaz/Jones platoon!

bullpen time. We've gotten spoiled by that streak that the starters had. Put this fire out and start another streak tomorrow.

Maholm needed to go immediately after walking a guy who has exactly 0 hits this year.

He did not have it today. Balls up in zone all day, horrible pitch to Beltran, got himself into trouble with walks.

Pull the plug up 7-3.
