Poor Charlie. That's two hits that are just weak groundballs to second. The 7 hits looks so much worse than it's actually been.

Well, at least they made some contact that inning.

I've seen all I need to see of Brandon Wood. Don't blame them for taking a flyer on the guy but it's time for him to go. Freaking Alvarez . . . .

Can Charlie get any more unlucky? He has given up 8 hits and I am not sure if one was solidly hit.

At least with Pedro there's the odd chance he connects and sends the ball out of the park. With Wood, there's not even that.

Wow, the Mets are sure getting bleeders through the infield. Yuck. Today just doesn't feel like one of those days where the Pirates get the breaks.

I know he won't get one but Cedeno should be charged with an error. Morton is just getting screwed today.

Ronny trying to make SportsCenter again. The run is going to score, but you can easily get the out at second. Another Cedeno brain fart.

Plus Pedro was slowly coming on too. He was showing the signs of a turnaround, and then he has to go down, ugh.

This game has been so amazingly frustrating to watch. Every hit is a weak roller past our defense. Why are we so constantly out of position? Is that really just bad luck, or bad defense?

I'm much more disappointed in the offense than the pitching or D though. Gee has been serving them up all night and they can't even make contact. Three hits against a guy with not so great stuff, who is pounding the strike zone. It's painful to watch.

It's sad that this is only a one run game, yet I feel so hopeless about their chances of winning.

On paper, this team looks worse than ours, but somehow it isn't.

They don't have Wright, Reyes, Bay, or Davis playing today, yet are beating us off of groundballs. While our lineup can't even make contact. When our lineup plays like this, they're not going to beat anybody. It's going on June here, and we're still yet to see any explosiveness out of anybody in this lineup outside of McCutchen (who is still swinging and missing at garbage way too much) and Walker. Tabata has been useless since his injury. Jones/Overbay are sad excuses of middle order bats. How much longer do we give them?

Easy goat now. Leadoff walk after you just tie the game up? You get the goat just for that. Then it turns into two runs. D-Cutch has been great this year, but that was typical Pirates.

Since May 20th, Tabata has hit safely in 7 of 8 games, hitting .367, and an onbase % of .457...

It wasnt the injury it was hitting 2nd...He has an OPS of .844 batting leadoff.

Jose Ascanio is officially the white flag for this team. That's not an indictment of him. My point is Clint Hurdle puts him in with a two-run deficit and that is a sign that Hurdle knows what he has with his offense. Two runs is pretty much insurmountable for this team.

Do what I do ... they make you sick, change the channel. Did not take long tonight.

Strike 3 glances off Snyder's mitt. Ehh, this is going to get ugly.

Just so effing glad I benched Pagan in my UPPMB leage tonight.

Wow, just not... just brutal... just... wow...

The 'good news' is that a win tomorrow keeps the Bucs .500 for May. Also, the rest of the Mets SP's for the series are not nearly as 'stellar' as Gee is (at least on paper):

Dickey (2-5, 4.5) , Capuano (3-5, 4.94) and Pelfrey (3-4, 5.00)

Come on Bucs! Win tomorrow! We can beat these chumps!
