This game should have been over in the 9th. Pearce had a great game until then. He hit the perfect double play ball. Unreal.

Pirates need hitting help so much that it is simply painful to watch the team.

Maholm does not have his best stuff but battles for 5 2/3. Gives up 2, loses.

Morton battles, gives his usual peformance, 7 IP, 2 runs allowed. Loss.

McDonald fought control a bit but gives a stellar performance, 6 IP, 2 runs allowed. No decision as team loses.

Jesus Christ, 18 2/3 IP by the starters, 17 H's allowed, 6 R's allowed, 2.95 ERA, 0-3 team record.
