If you have a chance, go to Gameday and watch the replay of Doumit's HR. Walkie, Brownie and myself had the same reaction. Shock. It was pitch low and outside and he went the opposite field with it. It looked a harmless fly ball that wouldn't even reach the warning track. But it did and then some.

Great American can be a hitters dream.

Ask and ye shall receive. McDonald at 91 pitches through 6. If his spot in the order doesn't come-up in the 7th, run him out there and see if he can get a few more outs. One hit or walk though and it's hook time.

92 pitches, very dominant so far and appearing to get stronger. Pitcher's spot not due up for a good while. Extremely well-rested bullpen with everyone available to pitch. Do you send him out for the 7th?

Do what Silver said. He had 27 pitches in the first so he has been very efficient since then.

Amen to Argentum and BB. I'd give Mickie D another batter if he allows a 2 out hit or BB but would have him on a short leash if there is a lead off hit or hit with one out. Leadoff hit and you have to bring in Beimel to face Bruce. Beimel better be getting loose.

Okay, back to back hits and his defense bails him out. 6.1 is a nice outing. Let's give him some help.

Count me in as someone who would not be afraid to put in Hanrahan for one of those extended session saves if needed today. This is one that the Bucs simply can't afford to let slip away.

Who will pitch the eighth? I would think Veras and then if he gets the first two, Beimel would only come in if Bruce came to the plate.

Yep. Given their usually poor offensive outputs, these types of pitching performances can't be pissed away.

I'd go with Veras. Nice to have some more runs with which to work!!! But for Tabata's blunder, it would be a 5 run lead. C'mon X MAN!

The radio guys said that Tabata seemed more interested in trying to get a quick start out of the box down to first instead of focusing on getting the ball on the ground.

Well at least it's not a DP.

If this holds up, what a good, complete, team effort by the Buccos today. It has been a joy to watch great pitching and timely hitting!

What happened to Diaz? My internet radio feed dropped out for his at-bat.
