As ugly as it looks, this isn't the Padres lineup. The Astros came into this series in the top 10 in runs scores and fifth in BA in MLB. Our pitchers with the exception of Resop's meltdown have been outstanding.

Great job getting out of a jam in the 6th. Time for Hurdle to pull the plug though. Two walks in the inning, including to the pitcher. James is spent (96 pitches)...go to the bullpen!

A third straight good/great game by McDonald though. He seems to be firing on all cylinders. Wow...Correia, Morton, Maholm and McDonald all zooming and Karstens doing a pretty good impression of a legit fifth starter. Who would have thought that our rotation would be a strength?!?!

Time for Hurdle to start bringing in Resop when he can't do any damage.

Use Veras, Beimel, Moskos and McCutchen as the setup men.

Wow. What a meltdown. Amazing. And the ump screws us as Beimel picks off the guy at first. What an inning!

Questioning Clint Hurdle's decision not to let McDonald start the 7th inning. Why does it seem that Clint Hurdle has been getting questioned alot recently?

I don't have a problem. As someone mentioned earlier. McDonald was done. What you can question is bringing in Resop. If we lose this game, you can still point some fingers at the offense, but let's face it, if you have two-run leads in the late innings and you can't hold it, that's unacceptable.

I agree bb........Resop two fails in a row now. Not mention no offense and key hits and screwing up another bunt play.

How does a slow moving catcher get home safe from 2nd on a freaking bunt play? UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!

Im starting to think Resop just had a lucky beginning to the season. The guy throws hard, but guys are teeing off on him now because all he has is a fastball. Im freaking pissed right now, but I also blame the Pirates offense for not producing more runs with the bases loaded. Wood has been terrible with the bat today!

Give Mills credit from the Astros, too. He has been pushing the right buttons. Sends his catcher on a steal on that play and it ends up a run. Wood and Walker both screwed up. Hurdle not so much this series. I think one hit and run worked all series and it was luck as Snyder hit it hard enough, the guy covering second still couldn't get to it.

If they lose today and lose the series, it is a step in the wrong direction. And if they lose the series to the Dodgers, then it could be another long season.

Yes, indeed. I think the entire 162 game season hinges on these next two innings.

How in the hell does Hurdle not get himself tossed after that McCutcheon catch? I would have gone nuts and it just cost them a run and probably the game. Way to go Clint! Thought you argued better than that for your players! You definitely have failed me today!

I get that playing .500 ball is not the goal, as Hurdle says. But, %&$!, to play better than .500, you've got to get to .500 first. And if they lose this game, it will be the third time in less than a week that they could have evened their record . . . only to fail. For heaven's sake, people, get over the damned hump, will ya?!?!
