Alvarez not playing tonight. Wood taking his spot.
Can't believe Overbay is playing. He blows against lefties. I thought for sure we'd of seen Pearce
Matt Diaz batting third. Guess that's what happens when Pedro sh!ts the bed.

Might as well let Pedro get healthier and sit him against a tough lefty.

As for Overbay over Pearce, I think Hurdle wants to have a righty available on the bench. That said, I would have rather seen Garrett Jones at first base. He's more likely to hurt the ball.

My concern is scoring early, I don't think Overbay helps in that regard, actually I think he hurts.......immensely. So what good is a RHPH in the 8th when we're losing 4-1?

Of course now that I've said that, Overbay will have a big night, and you'll thank me later!

Can we give Diaz the goat already after the 1st inning? Grounds into a DP and looks awful catching a flyball once again

This game has a bad feel to it.

Paul "the new BP" Maholm is pitching. He makes baseball look like work.

I hate Diaz. 2 Ab's lead to him seeing only 2 pitches

The radio guys said Overbay is a .400 hitter against Rodriguez, a few pitches later he hit a double and scored on Woods' double...

You can add Resop as a goat. The one thing that is pissing me off about the pitchers is that they are afraid to attack these small, fast guys. Pitch to them please. First it was Herrera from Colorado. Now its Bourn. Pitch to the speedy guys and make them hit it.

Im beyond pissed off right now. As soon as I think they are going to turn the corner, they relapse once again. What the hell is wrong with this team? Do they now have the mentality where they cant hit an fn ball at home compared to on the road. What is up with the leadoff walks to such soft hitters? It freaking disgusts me. Pitch to the god damn weak ass hitters!

And what do you know. Another pathetic effort at home. Get my hopes up to get back to 500 against a weak team and they show me why they suck year after year. Thank god for another game tomorrow. If they lose tomorrow, the season will be a lost cause from here on out and there should be a countdown to 100 losses.

Man that was a tough loss on a rainy night. That's exactly the kind of game this team needs to learn how to win. Bullpen has been good all year, especially Resop but not tonight. I'll give Resop credit, he was painting the corners and not getting the calls to Bourne.

I didn't understand giving away Cutch's at-bat in the 8th. You had Paul with good speed on first and you're playing for the tie? I thought the difference tonight was Houston's aggressiveness on the base pads and timely hits and the pirates lack there of.

Tabata, get you're head back in the game at the plate. You're too good of a hitter to be in this bad of a slump, especially 2nd in the batting order.

Painting the corners is not the right approach with a fast leadoff hitter. Go after him. Instead, he pitched "cute" and walked him, then it bit him in the ass.
