Johnson is a great pitcher. Im hoping Maholm can keep us in the game because the Pirates will strike out at least 10 times. Johnson can make you look foolish in the batters box, but hopefully the Pirates hitters are up for the challenge. Let's Go Bucs!

I like dropping Pedro to 7th behind Doumit, but Overbay in the three hole? Based on what? One game?

Oh god, I didn't realize JJ was pitching. I wonder how many innings it takes for him to pile up double digit K's.

Maholm is who he is ... a nibbler. He will always be a guy who is just as likely to get his head caved in as he is to go 7 good innings.

Just the way it is. But take note - Littlefield effing loved guys like Maholm. Huntington hates them. He has basically never selected a guy in the draft like Maholm.

Josh Johnson makes a lot of teams look like this.

On the bright side, Garrett Jones is pretty much locked in.

Yeah, I'm not going to make too much of this one. Maholm was always going to need to have a best performance of the year type of night to give the Buccos a shot against Johnson.

The ump actually helped Johnson a bit, as if he needed it. The guy is just too tough for our Buccos. He has great stuff and great command. Very rare.

Johnson's numbers are the best in the NL at this point. It's a loss to a good pitcher. Move on.

Yeah, hard dwelling over getting shut out by JJ, he's pretty much the elite of the elite and could do what he did to the Pirates to any lineup in the bigs.
