Attaboy, Meek.

Thank you for making me look stupid.

Not that that is difficult to do, mind you ....

I now like our chances with the 4-5-6 hitters against Joel Hanrahan.

And as you say this, Overbay hits an RBI double off of the Cards' righty.

Yes, right now I'll take him Over Bay (*rimshot*)

Nice little "trading places" sequence with GR doubles between McCutchen and Overbay.

Larussa stewing in the dugout like a modern-day Madame Lafarge, muttering, "Never again ... never again ...."

Which one's Eddie Murphy and which one's Dan Akroyd?

If you're a closer and you're going to give up a two doubles in the 9th, do it with a 3-run lead. Atta boy, Hanrahan.

4-2 on the road.

Really, really good starting pitching the entire trip. McDonald struggled a bit, but did not get shelled, Correia with two very good starts, Maholm, Morton with one.

No doubt. But I would much preferred to have seen Molina have yet another bat explode as he is standing in the batter's box for the out.

I hate Molina, for some reason.

A nice win, marred only by the Cardinals' run in the 9th.

This may have been my only opportunity to see the Pirates on live TV this season (although if they continue to play improved baseball, perhaps MLB Network will feature them move often) and I want to say a few words about John Wehner. Since he joined the broadcast crew, I've been reading on this board about how awful he is. Well, based on the game just ended, I have to disagree. He's far more articulate than I'd been led to believe. He offered intelligent opinions and insights that I enjoyed listening to.

He does appear a bit smug. That said, he is amazing behind the plate. Watching him receive the ball is like taking a lesson.

True, and true. His somewhat flippant attitude towards the Pirates grates on me.

But defensively, he is superb. I recall the scouting reports on Sanchez out of college, comparing him to Y. Molina.

Holy crap, I'll take that.

Undoubtedly a HUUUUUGE part of my thinking.

I don't have the same level of irritation at Pujols and Carpenter, however, and they have simply KILLED the Pirates.
